What is Target Heart Rate Zone

Heart rate zone is personal workout intensity in an exercise.

To find out your maximum heart rate (HR), the equation as follows

HR Intensity% =Current HR/Maximum HR * 100%
Maximum HR =220 - your Age

For example, if a person at age 30
his/her maximum HR = 190 (220 - 30)
current HR = 100
HR Intensity = 52% (100/190*100%)

There are different heart rate zones, please refer to the graph below

What is Heart Rate Monitor and Why need it?
Heart Rate Monitor:
A tool that provides information of your current heart rate in an exercise. It consists two parts, heart rate monitor and a chest belt, which acts as a transmitter of your heart beat information to the monitor.

Why:

Since it is difficult to measure your heart beat simultaneously, heart rate monitor becomes handy and necessary. It reduces the chances from over exercising and physical injuries.
Heart rate monitor is an useful tool in exercises such as running, hiking and cycling.. To benefit yourself, it is important to keep your heart rate within a particular zone(Heart Rate Zone). Base on the equation given, you can find out your training zone and exercise accordingly.
